After sitting in doctors' offices, and hearing them tell my friends with cancer that if didn't matter what they ate, I had to get involved. It matters!!
With my education as a biochemist, a wellness instructor, and a certified holistic nutritionist, I have always been fascinated with the body's reaction to food. The more I researched, the more I became convinced that food can completely change outcomes.
The simplest thing we can do for our health AND the environment is to eat MORE PLANTS/LESS MEAT. Eating animal products provides a conducive environment that supports disease.
Our bodies want to heal themselves and plants heal.
THE GOOD NEWS:
You don't have to radically change your life and diet today. Small changes, that you won't notice, can dramatically improve your health.
Eating less meat also makes a significant impact on the earth's resources, since a majority of our resources are used for livestock farming. Even keto diet supporters don't encourage the diet as a permanent lifestyle choice.
WHY I AM HERE
I believe a society of many imperfect people, each trying to do a little each day, and working together, will make the impact we need to see.
My goal is to improve lives with information, conviction, compassion and love.
I would like every person to know that she doesn't have to be perfect to make a real difference in her life. Please join me in learning small ways you can make a significant impact in your own health. At the same time, you will also be making a positive improvement in your community and the planet.
We all have so many names. I am a mother, a friends, a sister, a daughter, a volunteer, an activist, a board member, a wellness teacher, a fitness instructor, a holistic nutritionist, a biochemist, and a masters athlete. I believe you must bring your whole self to the table if you want to make a difference in this crazy world. All these roles brought me to start Fitness by Nature.
